With some types of practices now discredited (like relying on Beall's list), what's the latest thinking with regard to other tools, research, and training on deceptive journal publishing practices, and how to address them?.

From the institutional perspective, how do we ensure that our limited resources are spent wisely, specifically in relation to paying APCs for these journals, or our memberships/discounts with existing (and potentially new, like Frontiers)?.

UCSD: presented an avoiding 'Predatory' publishers workshop at the request of the Office of Research Compliance and Integrity and developed an evaluation tool (the anti-Beall's) that I'd love to collaborate on building out of beta!.From the researcher perspective, what types of educational programming do you do on your campus with regard to predatory publishing? What is the involvement of subject/liaison librarians?
